Summer in northern Michigan is always unforgettable, but Summer 2025 at Blustone Vineyards was truly one for the books. From live music on the patio to Foodie Fridays filled with flavor, from golden sunsets over the vines to the excitement of new wine releases, this season brought together friends, family, and travelers exploring Leelanau Peninsula, Old Mission Peninsula, and Traverse City.
Music Among the Vines
Our Vineyard Music Series once again brought incredible performances to our hilltop tasting room. Thousands of guests relaxed with a glass in hand while enjoying live bluegrass, Chicago blues, and acoustic favorites under the open sky. The combination of world-class wine and live music against the backdrop of Leelanau’s rolling hills made for unforgettable evenings.
Foodie Fridays
Each week this summer, we again welcomed a different local chef for Foodie Fridays—a culinary adventure paired with Blustone’s wines. From farm-fresh small plates to gourmet Mexican specialties and Vietnamese-inspired dishes, every Friday offered something new. Visitors exploring Leelanau Peninsula wine country and Traverse City dining made Foodie Friday a highlight of their trip. Let’s do it again next summer!
Sunset Saturdays
There’s nothing quite like sipping Blustone wines as the sun dips behind the vineyard. Our Sunset Saturdays captured the essence of northern Michigan evenings—warm breezes, glowing skies, and guests gathered on our patio with local, live-music making memories that will linger long after summer fades.
Summer Wine Releases
This season, we celebrated the release of two wines that quickly became guest favorites. Our 2023 Pinot Noir Rosé sold out in record time, with its crisp, refreshing character making it the go-to wine of summer. We also introduced our new 2023 Blu Secco, a fan-favorite sparkling wine featuring the Glera grape varietal––we’re one of only a handful of vineyards in the USA who grows this varietal that is the cornerstone of Prosecco. Both wines reflect the craftsmanship and cool-climate character that make Leelanau Peninsula wines so distinctive.
BlustoneClub Gala
A highlight of the season was welcoming our BlustoneClub members for the annual Summertime Gala. This multi-course dinner in the vineyard featured gourmet pairings with both current and unreleased wines, vineyard tours, and a surprise amuse course in the vines. It was an evening that truly celebrated the spirit of our community that is at the center of everything we do. We love you BlustoneClub!
Visitors From Near and Far
One of the best parts of summer is sharing our wines with visitors from across Michigan and beyond. Many guests included Blustone as part of their Traverse City vacation, or made us a stop while exploring the Old Mission and Leelanau wine trails. Meeting new friends and welcoming back familiar faces is what makes every season so special.
Thank You for a Beautiful Summer
As we look back on Summer 2025, we’re filled with gratitude—for the music, the meals, the sunsets, the new wines, and above all, the people who made the season unforgettable. While summer has come to a close, fall brings its own magic with harvest season, color tours, cozy fireside tastings, and our new Wine & Cheese Pairing Experience. Whether you’re planning a trip to Traverse City, exploring the Old Mission Peninsula, or returning to your favorite wineries here in Leelanau, we hope you’ll make Blustone part of your next visit.
