2021 Riesling

A modern expression of a classic. Our Riesling vines thrive in the temperate climate of the Leelanau Peninsula and translate that sunshine into a bright citrus flavor that is refreshing but not overwhelming. A true classic of this varietal that demonstrates the versatility of Leelanau winemaking.

Vintage Notes:

For the 2021 season, our vineyard manager started stripping the leaves from the fruiting zone right after fruit set. This gave the fruit a lot more sun and wind exposure, which yields thicker, darker skins, as well as cleaner fruit due to the airflow. An additional benefit was firmer fruit when it goes in the tank increasing the complexity of flavors when its time for crush at the winery.
